Content Deployment in SharePoint 2010 – A Brief Report

Content deployment in SharePoint 2010 has improved a bit. Some of the new improvements include the following two items

A. SQL Server Database Snapshots (only available in SQL Server 2008 Enterprise) – This is a cool feature. It allows us to take a snapshot of the source content database before the export operation happens. This is good so we don’t export or try to export content that is being authored live.

B. Choosing a Blank Site template for your destination site collection is no more the case. Now, you select the option under the Custom tab <Select Template Later>.

Will keep you posted.
